KVIDIO Bluetooth Headphones Review: Summary

If you’re on a pretty tight budget, the KVIDIO Bluetooth Headphones provide ample value for money. Their design, whilst all-plastic, feels solid and sturdy and they’re also comfortable and lightweight to wear. Their sound is certainly bass-heavy, so much so that the bass overpowers the other frequencies, but not as much as on some other cheap headphones. However, at this price point they perform as expected and many will be satisfied with them.

Our Rating: 7.5/10

Pros

  • 65hr battery Life
  • Lightweight
  • Durable construction

Cons

  • Sound muddied by excessive bass.

Who are the KVIDIO Bluetooth Headphones for?

At only £15/$27, the KVIDIO WH201A are for listeners on a small budget. If your priorities are comfort, battery life and having lots of bass then these will suit your needs. They’re also very portable, so would suit those looking to throw them in a bag for listening on the go.

Who are the KVIDIO Bluetooth Headphones not for?

As mentioned, these have A LOT of bass. If you’re after more neutral sounding headphones then look elsewhere.

The headphones come in a simple bubble wrap bag inside the box along with a user manual, aux cord and USB-A to USB-C cable for charging.

Design and Comfort

The KVIDIO Bluetooth Headphones have a plastic and clunky feel to them. You can choose between black, green, white, blue and pink colours. They feature earpads that are a good balance between being soft and firm along with padding on the headband, KVIDIO state that the earmuff padding is made from “memory-protein foam” and it works well here. We also found them OK with glasses, not the most comfortable but far from the worst.

All of the buttons and ports are on the right earcup. The buttons themselves are large, and they are easy enough to press whilst the headphones are on your head.

They feature play/pause and volume buttons along with a USB-C port for charging and a 3.5mm port so you can use them in wired mode. There are hinges near the earcups so the headphones can fold neatly for easy storage.

The headphones do feel on the cheap side, but KVIDIO had to make cuts somewhere for their relatively inexpensive price. Despite their plastic exterior and lightweight design, the headphones feel solid and hardy. I wouldn’t hesitate to throw them in a bag for travelling.

On the whole, in terms of comfort the KVIDIO WH201A perform very well, they feel lightweight on the head and the padding on the earcups and headband is perfect for the balance of having comfort but with a secure on-the-head feel.

Features

The KVIDIO Bluetooth Headphones feature 40mm drivers, Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity for solid connections to your devices, an omnidirectional microphone and a whopping 65 hours of battery life, powered by a 500mAh battery that can be charged in only 2.5 hours. A modest, yet complete set of features.

There was no issue with the Bluetooth connection whilst testing the headphones. It’s easy to operate them, simply hold the play button to power them on. Using the buttons is fairly seamless and the headphones are easy to use whether you’re at home or out and about.

Battery Life

The KVIDIO Bluetooth Headphones feature a 500mAh battery that promises 65 hours of playtime. The headphones can also be charged back to full in only 2.5 hours which is not bad at all.

Battery life felt excellent whilst testing the headphones, and given the fact you get nearly three solid days of playtime this wasn’t a surprise.

Microphone Quality

The KVIDIO Bluetooth Headphones feature an omnidirectional microphone. When we tested it out we were pleasantly surprised. There’s a very slight echo quality to the sound but on the whole it performs well enough for quick phone calls, being about equivalent to the microphone quality of a smartphone built-in mic. For such cheap headphones, that’s pretty decent indeed.

Sound Quality

We weren’t really sure what to expect from the KVIDIO Bluetooth Headphones in terms of their sound. On one hand, they are incredibly inexpensive for wireless headphones, on the other hand the current reviews on Amazon point to them punching well above their weight.

We found that their sound profile leans heavily on the bass side, so much so that the highs and mids are overshadowed which gives them a slightly muffled final product, though not as much as on some other pairs of cheap headphones. As a result, there’s not much to write home about in terms of instrument separation or clarity.

That said, the quality of the bass itself is very good: both punchy and vibrant, it’s just a shame that it dominates the overall sound so much and we can’t help but wonder whether their sound would have benefitted from a more balanced tuning.

However, for their modest price we would say the sound quality meets expectations, and to get a more dynamic sound from wireless headphones you will likely need to double your budget.

Overall, if you’re just looking for some simple, inexpensive headphones to throw on, and you’re looking for a lot of bass, then you will likely be happy with these so long as your expectations are managed. At this price point, there aren’t many other wireless headphones to consider, let alone ones that aim for a more neutral sound.

Which other headphones should you consider?

At this price point, the KVIDIO Bluetooth Headphones offer great value for money. If you’re willing to spring your budget a little further, the Anker Soundcore Q20i offer superior sound, build quality and comfort at the £50/$70 mark. Click here to read our review.

However, if you are stuck on a budget, the KVIDIO Bluetooth Headphones are a decent choice, just expect a lot of bass.

Features: 7.5

Overall Rating: 7.5/10

Overall, we didn’t really expect much from the KVIDIO WH201A Bluetooth Headphones due to their humble £15/$27 price tag. However, what we found were some punchy headphones that manage to feel lightweight, comfortable and absolutely solid at the same time. They have a modest set of features along with an excellent battery life. These would suit a listener on a very tight budget who likes a lot of bass.
